Konferenca bo potekala v kongresnem centru Bernardin v Portorožu.

Baldomir Zajc
predsednik konference

Uroš Salobir

VP.1 ELES at the dawn of digital utilities

Uroš Salobir, MSc. is at ELES, Ltd., Electricity Transmission System Operator. ELES, Slovenian Operator of Transmission System and High voltage network (TSO) is standing in the middle of the new digital business transformation that is today facing utilities all over Europe. Involvement of distributed energy resources in alignment of supply and demand based on big data, asset management and asset maintenance strategies based on advanced data driven processes, security related smart grid investments and smart real time awareness applications, are typical technical advancements that have a strong impact on the TSO Business of today as well as for the future. Digital transformation calls for a better optimization of power and digital resources within the utility as well as better cooperation within the electricity sector, also on a trans-national level. TSOs are therefore more than ever involved in European energy innovation initiatives, research alliances and EU funded research projects. ELES is gaining momentum by taking over Coordination of European Research projects and through European experience creating stronger cooperation and alliance of partners also on the national Slovenian level.

Alberto Tessarolo

VP.2 Design optimization applied to electromechanical device prototypes

Alberto Tessarolo graduated with honors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Trieste in 2000 and received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Padova. Since 2006 he worked in the industrial environment as an innovative electric machine design and development engineer. In 2006 he joined the University of Trieste, where he teaches the course of Electric Machine Design.
His primary research interest is the study of advanced methods for electric machine analysis, modeling and design, a field in which he has authored more than one hundred international scientific papers since 2008. He acts as the principal investigator for various research projects in cooperation with private companies and public organizations. He is a member of the Electrical Machines Committees of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and the IEEE Industry Applications Society, respectively. He serves an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion and the IEEE Power Engineering Letters and as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications and the IEEE Industry Applications Magazine. He is a member of several IEEE Societies (IAS, IES, PES, PELS, Magnetics, Reliability) and reviewer for their Transactions. He was the recipient of the 2014 Prize Paper Award for the best paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion in the period 2013-2014.

Christian Micheloni

VP.3 How to rank for person re-identification

Micheloni (M.Sc.’02, Ph.D. ‘06) received the Laurea degree (cum Laude) as well as a Ph.D. in Computer Science respectively in 2002 and 2006 from the University of Udine, Udine, Italy. He is associate professor at the University of Udine. Since 2000 he has taken part to European research being under contract for several European Projects.
Dr. Micheloni's main interests involve active vision for the understanding of the scene by images acquired by moving cameras, neural networks for the classification and recognition of the objects moving within the scene. He is also interested in pattern recognition techniques.
